About NSMS

The Northshore Summer Music School is a summer music camp open to all NSD students enrolled in band, orchestra or choir for the 2026-27 school year! Click Here to learn more about NSMS!

Students will receive large-ensemble instruction in Band, Orchestra or Choir as well as small-group instruction on their individual instrument. Additionally, all students will be able to select fun, musical electives like Beginning Ukulele/Guitar, Mallet Ensembles, Jazz Improvisation, Piano, Steel Drums, Chamber Ensembles, or "Beginning Instruments" where they can learn to play a new instrument! The campers will also be performing at an evening concert, and marching in the Bothell 4th of July Parade!

Will your student be taking band or orchestra for the first time in 6th Grade? As a part of our Middle School Preparation Program, students will learn the fundamentals of their chosen instrument to help them prepare for middle school band or orchestra.

  • For current 5th graders who will be enrolled in Middle School Band next year.

  • For current 5th graders who will be enrolled in Middle School Orchestra next year.

  • For students in 5th-8th grade who want to focus on singing (Musical Theatre and Concert Choir) as their main large ensemble courses.

  • For current middle schoolers (6th-8th Grade) who have at least 1 year of Orchestra experience. Orchestra students will focus on Bluegrass and Concert Orchestra as their main large ensemble courses.

  • For current middle schoolers (6th-8th Grade) who have at least 1 year of Band experience. Band students will focus on Jazz Band and Concert Band as their main large ensemble courses.
